My first camera

Technically it is not my camera, but I had one just like it. My sister found this one on eBay for my kiddos. It is in great condition and brought back a lot of fun memories. I've enjoyed all the cheesey zoo "pictures" on it. Very 1970s. Now Fisher Price makes the Kid Tough Digital camera that takes real pictures. We've got one in pink and it does take a beating. Somehow it is just not quite the same. Thanks for reminiscing with me. --Sally

Two Weeks Old

I always like to do newborn sessions sometime during the first two weeks of life. This is a newborn session with the same family from my birth session post. I met them at their home on a gray, cold rainy morning. We snuck out for a few shots bundled up under umbrellas, but most of the photos were taken inside where it was warm and cozy. Big News!

For those of you that are planning weddings, I've just signed on to be a wedding photographer for Jana Curcio Photography in DC. They are a company of amazing photojournalists and fine art photographers and I am honored to be able to work with them. They have been featured in The Knot and were selected in TheWashingtonian's Best of Weddings for the last five years. This will be just weddings and I'll still be doing my lifestyle portraiture work through my company, Sally Brewer Photography.

DC Urban Moms List

When I was pregnant with my first child my friend and co-worker told me about DC Urban Moms. Back then it was just a mailing list (a huge one!) covering various topics including nannies, playgroups, parenting styles, local doctors and much more. Now it has grown into more than just the email list. They have forums, mailing lists, links to events and much more.
