Catching up

The reason that I haven't posted anything since before last week is because I was out of town on a last-minute road trip to Tennessee. We decided to take advantage of a quiet week and hit the road to see my husband's family. We are officially back and I am "in the office." I'll be posting some images soon that I took on our trip including a family session, a newborn session, and some fun images from the road. It is good to be back in Virginia and I'll be paying for my week of good, Southern cooking and lots of Cracker Barrel highway stops. Salads here I come!

Bocce ball

Last Saturday I had a very fun morning hanging out with friends who asked me to do a photo session for them. The last time they had portraits taken was at their wedding and that was about six years ago. They were overdue! :) We started the morning at their home hanging out with their dog and playing some bocce ball. Then we headed out to Old Town to grab some quick photos before they went off to a game of golf. They are always so funny and they had me cracking up through the entire session. Thanks for a great morning! Enjoy, Sally

Three Generations

Last Friday afternoon I had a special family session. The siblings (and their spouses and children) had all gathered at their parents home and wanted to have a big family photo taken. It was so fun to spend time with this warm and friendly family. I took some posed shots, but my favorites are the ones that happened "in-between", those real-life moments. Enjoy! --Sally

The whole family....

Love those sweet baby legs!

I love the little guy holding on to him mom's dress.

Happy Father's Day

For all the dads out there, I wish you a very Happy Father's Day! Hope you have a good one. I started this morning with a quick portrait job so I didn't get to pamper my husband with a big homemade breakfast. Instead I'm cooking a big lasagna and a strawberry pie (his favorite!) for dinner and hoping we have a nice quiet day at home for the rest of the day. --Sally

P.S. Here is a sneak peek from Friday's large family session. I love how happy this grandfather looks with of all his grandchildren and all the hubbub that comes with six kiddos!

Three Weeks

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of spending time with this family and their brand new baby boy. He was three weeks old and still so tiny and sweet. He had the bluest eyes that were so curious about what was going on. We were hoping he would sleep for us so I could get some sweet sleepy pictures, but he decided he would rather stay awake and keep an eye on all the happenings. :) It was such an honor to do his first photo session. Enjoy! --Sally

Play!

Here's a sneak peek from this morning's session. I had such a fun time hanging out with this family today. It was another hot and sweltering day in DC, but it didn't deter the outdoor festivities. We got some great shots inside too. More to come! Thanks for a great morning, it was a pleasure to spend it with you. Enjoy! --Sally

More Old Town

Some more favorites from Friday's session. I had such a hard time narrowing down which ones to blog. We had a great time in Old Town, and despite the heat and humidity everyone looked fresh and happy. Thanks for a great session. Enjoy! --Sally

A little bit of seriousness...

I love everything about this image. Happy baby and adoring big brother all wrapped up in Mom's hug.
