NEW Blog

I am very excited to say that I now have a new blog. Here is the link: www.sallybrewer.com/blog. I love the new layout and how I can post bigger pictures. Please stop by and let me know what you think. I just posted some more images from my Great Falls, VA family session. It has all my old posts from this blog too. Please update your blog readers and email subscriptions so you can find out what I've been up to. Thanks! Sally

"My Girls"

For the past two summers my friend Kelley and I have been involved with a Bible Study for college girls home for the summer. It has been such a pleasure to get to know these young women, share in their lives, and to relive some of my own college memories through their stories. We've shared a lot over cups of coffee and cupcakes at Buzz and I'm looking forward to their winter break this December when they'll be home again with stories of the past semester. Last week before everyone left we met up for dinner and a quick mini-photo session. Here are a few of my favorites from the evening. Miss you girls! Enjoy! Sally

Inspiration

I like a little inspiration for how to display my photographs. It is one reason why I love the Pottery Barn catalog and all the design blogs cropping up on the internet (this is one of my favorites). Now I found a product created for photograph layouts and I am excited to offer my clients a little inspiration for displaying their images with this new inspiration guide. It has different layouts for wall and shelf displays and includes the corresponding picture sizes to make designing a snap. Enjoy! --Sally

Great Falls, Virginia Photography Session | Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek from yesterday's session. This family was so much fun. Their little girl reminded me so much of oldest daughter at age one, so full of energy and spunk. We met at Great Falls Park in Virginia. I hadn't been in years and it was great to be back at the park. I had forgotten just how gorgeous it is and I can't believe how long I've been away. I'm already planning a trip to take my family there. Thanks for a great morning....definitely more to come! Enjoy, Sally

Family Session in Washington, D.C.

I'm still catching up from last month's sessions. This one was a very fun session with a very active 13-month old. He was just starting to walk on his own and was very much into exploring the world around him. We met up at the family home and then headed over to a park in Georgetown. It was a great morning--perfect weather and a smiley toddler. A photographer's dream! Thanks for such a fun morning! Enjoy, Sally

I was totally smitten when I saw his gorgeous brown eyes.

You can get a glimpse of their yard. Gardening is a shared passion of Mom and Dad and we spent a great deal of time in the backyard with all the lovely plants and the fish pond. It was so relaxing.

Love the little wet toes.
When I arrived he was just finishing up a little morning snack. He was so incredibly charming with his cute smiles I had to get out my camera and start the shoot right away.

Tennessee Friends

Late last winter some dear friends of ours moved to Knoxville, TN. Last month during our road trip we were able to spend some time with them at their new home. I have to be honest, I had a little house envy. :) Their home is lovely and we are so happy for them, but we sure do miss them. Hopefully they'll be up for a visit soon. (Hint, hint!) Miss you! Baby Boy

I'm back from my time-off and will have some images to share from my trip soon, but in the meantime I've been doing some catching up on my editing. Here are a few favorites from a quick session from Tennessee. We stopped by to visit one of my husband's friends from college. He and his wife just had their first child and I had to take a few pictures of the new addition. Their little baby was so cute and slept pretty much the entire time we were there. He was a perfect trooper for his first photo shoot. Enjoy! --Sally

A little time off...

I'll be taking this week off to spend some time with my family and to enjoy a little bit of summer. I hope to spend a lot of time pool side with a good book and some magazines. I'm also looking forward to doing some personal work with my camera. I hope to have some images to share next week. I'll still be checking voicemail and email periodically if you need to reach me. I hope this week brings you a little sunshine and relaxation too! Enjoy! Sally

Not quite two....

Last week I met up with this cutie for his second session with me. You may remember him as my little "rock star" baby from last year. Well he's not a baby anymore and his curls are gone, but he still has those gorgeous blue eyes. He is a charmer and I had a fun time chasing him around Rosslyn! Enjoy, Sally

The Beach House session

In July (I can't believe it is already August!!!) I met this family of six at their beach house in Maryland. We had a fantastic evening session with great light. The kids did so well. I had a great time with them and got some really fun images. Thanks for a fun evening by the beach! Enjoy, Sally
