Dixie Bones | Woodbridge, VA

While we were out running errands today we happened to be in Woodbridge during lunchtime. We made a stop into one of my favorite places to get BBQ, Dixie Bones. It is right off Route 1 and I think it has the best pulled chicken sandwiches in the area. It is like something you'd find in a small town: lots of kitschy decorations (see below -- the pig which greets you as you enter the door), patches from law enforcement groups, tasty food, and always a crowd of regulars. It is a Northern Virginia institution and according to a sign in the restaurant it is rated one of the top cheap eats in DC by the Washingtonian. Stop by if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy, Sally

P.S. Don't forget dessert, they have great homemade pies!

I am so glad you posted this! Just last night we stopped by CHAPS PIT BEEF in Baltimore because we saw it on Guy Fieri's DINERS, DRIVES INS & DIVES and it was the bomb of BBQ!! And so we were wondering if there are any good BBQ places in VA... now we know what to try next! LOL!
